As we emerge from the upheaval of the last year, Connect really is Building Back Better and this new position within our successful Property Services team is critical to our growth plans. Connect Property Services is our in-house maintenance service provider, which is currently mobilising a new Estates Team, delivering cleaning, soft landscaping, fire safety, and void clearance work across West Yorkshire.
In order to streamline administration and improve service delivery to customers we are investing heavily in new IT systems. Currently we are awaiting the arrival of our new van fleet, resplendent in the refreshed Connect branding which itself represents the exciting progressive outlook we’re adopting across the organisation. As the Estates Team Leader you will assist in the mobilising of our new Estate Services team delivering cleaning, soft landscaping, fire safety, and void clearance work, provide ongoing support and day to day leadership of the team and service delivery in these areas. You will be based in Dewsbury but expected to travel across Connect Estates on a frequent basis as part of the role
To ensure high performance in the day to day delivery of Landlord Services works, including communal cleaning, property clearance, caretaking / facilities management to offices and supported housing projects. This also includes ground maintenance, tree care, monitoring and maintenance of fire safety systems and equipment within Connect’s housing stock and any other associated works.
To act as key support to the Service Manager, and have oversight of the day to day operations of in house staff and contractors.
The ideal person will have:
Significant experience of estates management including one or more of: grounds maintenance, property clearance & cleaning, minor repairs, fire safety control & monitoring, management programmes.
A full driving licence.
A working knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations.
The ability to set own objectives and, to plan workload to deliver objectives and react to unplanned situations.
The ability to co-ordinate the work of the team and provide advice, guidance and support to other team members, including apprentices.
An understanding of the principles of good customer care.
Be willing and able to travel to work locations around West Yorkshire.
