Salary £21,000-£25,500p/a depending on experience

We are looking for an enthusiastic Community Development Worker to develop and deliver a variety of men’s groups aimed at reducing social isolation and improving the wellbeing of men in East Leeds.


Job Summary 

Working with diverse communities to develop five community groups that help reduce social isolation and improve mental wellbeing amongst men living in deprived areas of Inner East Leeds.

Using a community development approach to engage with local men and support them to develop and participate in activities which contribute to reducing social isolation and improving social and physical wellbeing

Developing and delivering a range of community wellbeing / development / engagement activities to achieve funder’s requirements and desired outcomes in East Leeds. 

Working flexibly with local communities on community based projects, activities, events and courses in East Leeds

Working in a non-judgemental way giving a voice to local people & groups and responding to their concerns by developing activities that promote tolerance and understanding amongst the different communities of East Leeds

Delivering identified project outputs and outcomes as required by the funders and agreed in the annual delivery plan.

Working in ways which promote the principles of Zest–Health for Life – reducing inequalities, developing partnerships and promoting community participation.

Terms and conditions to include: 39 days annual leave per year, including public and bank holiday allowances. Zest – Health for Life will contribute 5% of salary to a pension scheme. Successful applicants will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS disclosure.
