Salary: £10,920 per annum, 1-year fixed contract with a view to extend subject to funding.

STEP is a Neighbourhood Network Scheme supporting older people in West Park & Far Headingley, Leeds.

Monday – Wednesday, 10.30am – 16.00pm, Thursday 10.30am – 3.00pm

21 hrs per week

To visit members in their own homes ensuring they are safe and well, referring on to other agencies as required.

To support and encourage them to take part in STEP activities at our centre.

To transport over 60’s to and from our centre on a booked appointment system.

To keep records of all home visits, referrals and telephone contacts.

To keep records of all transport journeys and payments.

To allocate time each week to make member appointments on a rolling basis.

To provide a weekly activity report to The STEP Manager.

A DBS Check will be undertaken.

To be responsible for the opening and closing of the STEP Centre when the Manager is away from the office.

Job Specification

Please only apply for this post if you have all of the following Essential Criteria:

A full UK Clean driving licence

Has being employed as an Outreach Worker previously, preferably with older people

Committed to supporting people who are socially isolated

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Excellent organiser

Reliable and Punctual

Competent in IT (Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher)

Must be able to keep accurate records for weekly reports

Must be able to provide 2 references from previous employers


Experience of employment within the Voluntary Sector

Knowledge of the work of Neighbourhood Network Schemes

Knowledge of organisations that support older people

Knowledge of the STEP area
