Leeds Baby Bank works to support families in crisis across the city caring for children aged 0-5 by providing baby essentials and equipment to ensure that no child goes without. Through a referral service with associated professionals and the steadfast support of the Leeds community, we help around 90 families a month. The vast majority of items are donated pre-loved from the public helping to build a sustainable Leeds.
Our values are
• compassion
• connecting people
• community
We are looking for new trustees who are passionate about these values and the work that we do to support families in poverty. We have 3 members of staff – a manager, unit supervisor and driver who delivers to families using our wonderful new electric van. We also have a fantastic team of volunteers, both long term and short-term student placements/ local
businesses volunteer days.

What we are looking for
We would love to recruit a new trustee who is passionate about our work and can bring enthusiasm and dedication. We are keen to have a more diverse board of trustees and would strongly encourage applications from those with a disability, or from black, indigenous or people of colour communities.

We ask for a minimum two year commitment and trustees meet quarterly (with occasional extra meetings for specific additional projects/ purposes). Previous trustee experience is not essential although relevant experience (life experience, voluntary or work experience) is desirable.

Our Vision

The Community Matters vision is to provide a sustainable and effective "hub" of learning, support, advice and guidance, enabling local communities and organisations to grow and achieve through the provision of a high quality service.

We do this in a number of ways through our various projects which at the moment concentrate on working with children, young people and families. But not exclusively. We are able to provide training, learning opportunities and business related advice, guidance and information to individuals and organisations.
